Laura Langman to take a break from Netball
The decision by New Zealand netball great Laura Langman to take a break from the game has received Netball New Zealand’s (NNZ) full support.
Langman announced today that she would not be returning to play for the Sunshine Coast Lightning in next year’s Australian league after helping the fledgling club win this year’s inaugural title.
``This must have been an incredibly difficult decision for Laura to make and we acknowledge how tough this must have been for her,’’ NNZ CEO Jennie Wyllie said.
The mercurial midcourter has indicated she would like to put her energy into travel, work and family life at home and has made no commitments either way in regards to her future involvement in netball.
``She is a top-class athlete and a fantastic ambassador for Netball,’’ Wyllie said.
`` We respect Laura’s decision to take time out from the game and focus on work and family. We certainly look forward to sitting down with her and talking about her future when she is ready”.
