The latest news and updates from Netball New Zealand

Learning and Development Portal is now LIVE

The Netball New Zealand online Learning and Development Portal is now open for our Netball community to access key resources and learning modules to support them to have an enjoyable and rewarding season.

This portal provides opportunities for Coaches, Officials and Players to learn more about our game and build their confidence and motivation as well as their knowledge and skills specific to each role.

This year Netball New Zealand has refreshed its current offerings to trial a more engaging and interactive learning experience for the netball community.

In addition to the modules supplied in previous years, Netball New Zealand has expanded on learning areas to allow more of the netball community to be catered for.

For example, all users will now have the opportunity to complete the three online Get Started modules: NetballSmart (Growing Player Performance), Player Centered Coaching and Introduction to Netball Rules.

Once the Get Started modules are complete, Community Coaches will be offered supplementary modules, resources and templates for $10/year.

This pilot initiative allows coaches to do some initial learning online from home, prior to attending a workshop, making the workshops both more practical and shorter – a key desire identified in the 2018 NNZ Coach survey. This community coach area also offers support for new coaches, in the form of weekly tips, templates and a 12-week resource.

There is three extension NetballSmart modules in the new NetballSmart learning area. These modules will allow the community to understand how to optimise player performance and minimise injury risk by using the six NetballSmart Principles.

In addition, the netball community will have access to: the theory exam component of the Centre, Zone and NZ Awards on the NNZ Umpire Framework, Foundation and Performance Coach areas as per the NNZ Coach Framework and modules for Umpire Coaches coming soon.
